Option to sort channel messages in ascending order

First of all, I love Hexchat. I've used many other IRC GUIs and Hexchat is by far my favorite. There is at least one thing that would make it the absolute perfect IRC tool for me, and that is to have an option to sort channel messages in ascending order (most recent messages at the top). I searched the documentation and scoured the GUI options but couldn't find this setting, so I am assuming it's not there.

If it is there, then could you please point me to the URL where it is documented? If not, I was thinking of adding an option named something like gui_chanmsg_sort and the values be strings limited to "asc" and "desc". Or, if it's easier, have the option named gui_chanmsg_sort_asc which would take a boolean value. In the latter, the default would be false, which would preserve the current default Hexchat functionality. Lastly, in the GUI, either of these options would probably best live under "Settings --> Preferences --> Interface --> Appearance --> General?".
