Proposal Summary

I'd love to see a Python interpreter right inside the app (similar to VS Code), to control the current session and the app in the same window.

Motivation

  • Right now I have to choose how I want to work before starting FiftyOne. I'd like to be able to start the app and control the current session without noticing I have to close and start the session via Python again to have the session in the terminal window.

What areas of FiftyOne does this feature affect?

  • App: FiftyOne application

Details

Similar to VSCode, maybe in a Tab window (like Embeddings, Histrogram, Samples).

Willingness to contribute

The FiftyOne Community welcomes contributions! Would you or another member of your organization be willing to contribute an implementation of this feature?

  • Yes. I can contribute this feature independently
  • Yes. I would be willing to contribute this feature with guidance from the FiftyOne community
  • No. I cannot contribute this feature at this time

This would indeed be awesome! Like VoxelGPT but the panel just lets you run arbitrary Python commands
